Most of these balloons are those falsely marketed by the balloon industry as “biodegradable latex.” All photos were taken by Balloons Blow on Hutchinson Island, Florida, USA – unless otherwise noted. All photos with citations may be used for education purposes.
Flotsam and Jetsam 13

The earth is being choked by plastic
We must reduce our use of plastics & eliminate single-use plastics from our daily lives. The recycling triangle is a lie. Only about 7% of plastic used in the US actually gets recycled into something else. All this came ashore & was collected on a beautiful 1/2 mile stretch of Florida beach. Single-use plastic beverage bottles, plastic utensils, plastic straws, plastic caps, plastic oil containers, polystyrene, rope, fishing gear & a big, plastic pontoon filled with small, polystyrene balls. 38 balloons: 31 latex & 7 mylar.

Plastic Pollution
Single-use plastic bottles galore. Please consider using a reusable stainless steel water bottle instead.

Pollution in all forms
Tossed from the sea by the winds & the waves on just a 1/2 mile stretch of pristine beach on southeast Florida. Not brought in by beach-goers. Insane amount of plastic caps & little plastic bits today. Plastic single-use beverage bottles, plastic utensils, plastic straws, shoes, polystyrene, styrofoam cups, lightbulbs, fishing gear, 28 balloons: 19 latex & 9 mylar. And a sweet egret feather.
